We at Mission Adventures believe that it is the small things in life that count! So that is why we have a long standing tradition (about 9 months actually – but it is a long time if you were standing all of that) to reward certain members of the team the famous “Nerd of the Day” prize. We have a proud relationship with ‘Wonka’ Candy who supply the much needed candy for Mission Adventure trips, (they provide this candy at the usual retail price but we are hoping that in the future Wonka will read this blog and become our biggest financial and candy supporter).
James Hargest College did a brilliant outreach to Cambodia these past school holidays – check the Mission Adventures Facebook page for pics – but here are the most popular Nerd of the Day prizes that were awarded during this amazing outreach. Nerd of the Day was a common prize for people doing either dumb or awesome things.
- Zoe got it for stubbing her toe after going where she wasn’t supposed to!
- Jesse got it for making a big spectacle of how he wouldn’t drop another team members water bottle, and then almost dropped it and whacked himself in the head with it – to everyone’s amusement.
- Bec (an orphanage leader) who slid down the water slide the whole way on her feet, although being inches away from knocking herself out (to the horror and surprise of the boys on the team who couldn’t do this!)
- Ms Bohman who almost made a moto driver crash.
- Mrs Tyree who told Lauren that she had to eat her Nutella sandwich when Lauren has a violent nut allergy.
- Lauren for remembering the old city in Joshua – aptly named ‘Shittim’ – and ‘Dr Robotnik’s’ name in a quiet time quiz.
